1. THE ADVENTURE RENTAL AGREEMENT

This agreement constitutes a legally binding contract between the renter and Ride & Fire, operating under the domain rideandfire.in, governing all daily local motorcycle and vehicle rentals in the Ladakh region. By taking possession of a rental vehicle from our fleet, the renter agrees to abide by all terms, operating guidelines, and safety policies detailed herein. Unlike long-term touring expeditions, our daily rentals are structured on a twenty-four-hour cycle, requiring prompt pickup and return at our designated facilities. Renters are expected to operate the vehicles safely, responsibly, and in strict accordance with the laws of the Union Territory of Ladakh.

2. OPERATOR LICENSE COMPLIANCE

To secure a daily rental vehicle from Ride & Fire, every operator must produce a valid physical driver license. For domestic Indian riders, a permanent motor vehicle driving license permitting the operation of geared motorcycles is mandatory, and learner permits or temporary slips are strictly unacceptable. International tourists must present a valid International Driving Permit alongside their original domestic motorcycle license and passport. Digital copies, photographs, or web-based verifications are insufficient for vehicle dispatch; our administrative team must verify the physical documents in person at our compound before any keys are handed over. Failure to present valid licensing credentials at the time of pickup will result in immediate cancellation of the booking without a refund.

3. HIGH ALTITUDE HEALTH LIABILITY WAIVERS

Renters explicitly acknowledge that operating a motorcycle in the Ladakh region involves navigating extreme high-altitude mountain terrain, frequently exceeding heights of eleven thousand feet and reaching over seventeen thousand nine hundred feet at high passes such as Khardung La and Chang La. Operating motor vehicles under these conditions exposes the body to low barometric pressure and severe oxygen depletion, which can precipitate Acute Mountain Sickness, High Altitude Pulmonary Edema, or High Altitude Cerebral Edema. By signing this agreement, the renter certifies that they are in good health, assume all physiological risks of high-altitude travel, and release Ride & Fire from any and all liability, claims, or damages resulting from altitude-induced illnesses, medical emergencies, evacuations, or physical distress suffered during the rental term. Renters are solely responsible for ensuring proper acclimatization, maintaining hydration, and carrying their own personal medical supplies.

4. FLEET RESTORATION AND DAMAGE LIABILITY

All vehicles in the Ride & Fire rental fleet are maintained to strict engineering standards. Before departing our compound, the renter and our mechanics will perform a joint visual inspection to record any pre-existing blemishes or operational characteristics. In the event of any damage, mechanical breakdown due to rider negligence, accidents, tip-overs, or collisions during the rental period, the renter agrees to bear the full cost of restoration. Damage assessments are conducted objectively, calculated using the actual manufacturer parts replacement cost lists for genuine spares plus local mechanical labor rates. Ride & Fire does not charge arbitrary damage penalties, ensuring that the renter is billed solely for the direct physical cost of restoring the vehicle to its pre-rental state.

5. UNION COMMERCIAL PLATE COMPLIANCE

Ride & Fire operates in full compliance with the Ladakh Bikers Cooperative Limited and local transport regulations. All daily rental motorcycles in our fleet are registered with official commercial black-and-yellow transport plates carrying the LA-02 prefix. Renters are legally permitted to operate these vehicles across all regional checkpoints, including those at South Pullu, North Pullu, and Upshi, without facing seizure or harassment from local authorities or transport unions. Renters are cautioned that using private white-plated vehicles for commercial rental in Ladakh is illegal and subject to severe union penalties and vehicle confiscation, whereas our fully compliant commercial fleet guarantees a seamless, legal, and uninterrupted journey throughout the Ladakh Union.

6. CHANGSPA COMPLEX SUPPORT SERVICES

Our main operations compound is conveniently situated on Changspa Road in Leh, providing a centralized hub for all daily rental activities. We offer comprehensive on-site facilities designed to support riders before, during, and after their journeys. This includes free secure luggage storage within our locked facility, allowing renters to store heavy suitcases and non-essential travel gear safely while exploring the mountain trails. Our compound also features in-house certified mechanics who perform comprehensive multi-point safety checks on every machine before departure, handle immediate adjustments, and remain available to address any technical queries, ensuring that every renter rides out with a perfectly tuned, reliable, and safe motorcycle.
